First graders have a great time in Košutnjak

We enjoyed the field trip, had fun and learned a lot

Spending time outdoors is very important for children, because playing in a forest environment makes them happier and smarter, improves their attention and creativity, reduces stress, and helps them relax and gather energy needed for learning. In addition, being outside helps children grow into healthy and compassionate individuals who care for the environment.

Diverse curricular and extracurricular content in Savremena is designed so as to help children learn more about nature, while having fun with their classmates. Outdoor games contribute to the development of cognitive, motor and intellectual skills, which is why a field trip to Košutnjak is always a good idea.

On their field trip, Year 1 students walked through the forest enjoying educational stories, played with each other, and had a great time with their classmates and the teacher, making the most of the wonderful spring weather and fresh air. They observed insects and flowers, asked various questions about plant and animal life, and shared their impressions caused by the smells, sounds, and sights in Košutnjak.

Playing outdoors helps Savremena students to boost their energy, which results in improved attention in class. As a result, they memorize things more easily, perform better in tests, and become more creative. This school adventure also raised student awareness of the importance of environmental protection, which is something Savremena pays special attention to.

Interacting with nature automatically involves physical activity and exercise. Hiking is extremely beneficial for a child’s health and correct posture, and when it is combined with the development of motor skills and dexterity through play, children are bound to have a great time.

Savremena Primary School is and always will be an inspiring environment that encourages creativity and development of its students both inside and outside of the classroom. We promise that we will continue to do so, and we are looking forward to some future field trips.
