The Combined – bilingual programme is a concept that combines the best aspects of the National Programme with the most advanced modern education provided by the Cambridge International programme. This synthesis allows the children to be taught in their first language and thereby gain all the necessary traditional knowledge, as well as get an entirely new perspective by learning English through lessons mediated in the English language.
The early years of elementary education are crucial for the formation of the child’s personality and the child’s attitude towards school, which is why Savremena’s programme is thoroughly adjusted to this delicate time. At Savremena’s Combined Programme, the children attend lessons in both Serbian and English.

The accreditation issued by the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development and the accreditation received from the Cambridge University allow Savremena to offer two different forms of education in one:
- education that follows the curriculum defined by the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development;
- teaching in accordance with the globally recognised Cambridge curriculum.
The Combined – bilingual programme concept blends the best aspects of the National Programme and the most advanced modern education provided by the Cambridge International programme.
A special advantage of Savremena’s Combined Programme is bilingual teaching, where the students, in addition to their first language, also develop their foreign (English) language skills.
At Primary School Savremena’s Combined Programme, lessons are mediated in Serbian and, partially, in English.
The benefits that the children get through bilingual teaching are numerous. In addition to the opportunity to develop English as good as their first language, the Combined Programme continually improves the students’ concentration, heightens their interest in the subject matter, teaches them to accept diversity and multiculturalism and fosters the early development of critical thinking and creativity.

Teaching at the 21st century school looks different than the memories of earlier generations: teachers and students use modern devices such as:

A healthy, proper and varied diet plays an important role in our students’ successful growth and development. Bad habits developed in childhood are very hard to break later in life, and inadaquate diet can have considerable consequences.
We carefully avoid industrial food, additives, flavour enhancers, white flour and white sugar and refined vegetable oils in the children’s diet. All food is 100% fresh and organic, prepared immediately before serving. In addition to serving balanced meals, Savremena gives a great deal of attention to nutrition-related education.
The students get used to the taste of healthy and fresh food, learn to combine foodstuffs and start seeking out healthy alternatives outside school, developing good habits for the future. 100% healthy

DEVELOPING SKILLS FOR 21st CENTURY KIDS
Elementary school Savremena develops many other aspects of knowledge and skills that help the
children establish a much stronger foundation for further education and life in general. The early years of elementary school are considered crucial when it comes to the adoption of many aspects of knowledge and skills. This goes beyond the required ones such as literacy, learning about the basics of mathematics concepts and tools and learning about nature and society.
DIGITAL LITERACY
Savremena’s students acquire knowledge that helps them analyse each piece of information and apply it in the right way. The Combined Programme ensures that they master the fundamentals of informatics literacy.
INVENTIVE THINKING
Through interactive teaching and games that provide food for thought, the students will have fun creating ideas that will boost their intellectual development.
SOLUTION-ORIENTED THINKING
One does not adopt knowledge only in order to get good grades; this knowledge needs to be put to work, applied in solving specific tasks, situations or problems.
