We’re through to the regional round! Filip Perišić will represent Savremena in a tech competition

After a great performance at the municipal competition, our students qualified for the next round

Savremena’s primary students continue to impress with their tech accomplishments! After seven students shone at the school competition and qualified for the municipal round, some of them managed to go a step further.
The excellent Filip Perišić from 6-1 had a great performance that enabled him to qualify for the regional competition.

Seven students of Primary School Savremena took part in the municipal technology competition TiT, which was held on 17 April 2021 at the Milan Rakić Primary School in New Belgrade. Our contestants performed excellently, and the best of them, and by far the best one compared to the contestants from other schools, was our own Filip Perišić, a remarkably talented boy who shows great competitive spirit and desire for advancement.

Also, congratulations to teacher Maja Erić, who prepared the talented students and guided them through the school and municipal competitions. Preparations for the regional round are long underway and we’re certain Filip will shine once again. As we’ve seen on so many occasions – hard work always pays off.

ROBOTICS AND TECH SUBJECTS INSPIRE CREATIVITY AND TEAM SPIRIT

The students enjoy creative and practical tasks in Technology lessons with class teacher Maja Erić, as well as in the Robotics club. Competitions such as this one truly develop competitive spirit and desire to advance. Of course, this is also a chance for students to evaluate their results and compare them with the results of their friends from other schools.

Don’t forget that the dedication of students in Savremena’s senior Years has already paid off, as they achieved excellent results in the school TiT competition. Their feedback is amazing. They learnt how to perform under pressure and proved that hard work always yields great results. The contest was open for students in Years 5, 6 and 7.

TECH-BASED COMPETITION FULL OF UNUSUAL CONTENT

Owing to the fact that Primary School Savremena is equipped with state-of-the-art technology and that the lessons are highly interactive, our primary students are well-versed in the use of technology. So, TiT was a great opportunity for them to apply their tech knowledge and skills.

The TiT competition is a story unto itself. Some of the main goals of this highly popular competition is for the students to showcase their creative, innovative and entrepreneurial skills. They will also develop algorithmic thinking and understand the importance of gaining functional skills related to what defines success in the 21st century – technological awareness.

One part of the TiT competition for younger kids is a test, while the second part is a practical assignment. Due to the coronavirus situation, strict measures were implemented in order to avoid contamination, which is the biggest difference compared to previous installments of the contest which involved many contestants.

But this hasn’t lowered the quality of the competition. It has actually improved it, as it’s more difficult to place now that the number of participants is limited due to the pandemic.
Once again: Well done, Filip! And good luck at the regional competition!
