Welcoming Santa and preparing his warm home

As part of a holiday tradition, the students create a house for santa clause

Santa Claus has been an integral part of Christmas and New Year celebrations holidays for centuries, and the character of the good-natured old man who brings gifts to children is present in stories and legends of peoples around the world.

The gifts for Savremena’s students are ready, which is why they decided to make a house for Santa Claus himself.

He sneaks in through a window or a chimney and leaves presents under the Christmas tree. Sometimes he puts presents in Christmas stockings, by the fireplace. He always does that before the New Year, but few children can boast seeing him handing out presents.

And yet, Santa often surprises children and gives them presents from his large bag, with a mandatory story about good behaviour and morality. And he always knows what a child wants for New Year’s. This time, Savremena’s primary students decided to create a nice home for their holiday patron in order to further emphasise the idea of Santa Claus at the school.

While creating the house, the students carefully designed the decorative bells which they placed on a large piece of paper resembling an igloo. Then they glued on other decorative elements, windows, doors and other creative details, in order to make the house look as imaginative and warm as possible.

“You can join us now, Santa”, said the little ones. Their presents are undoubtedly well-deserved, given how diligent they have been during this term.
