This year, Savremena is hosting the “FIRST LEGO League Explore” festival, which was designed with the idea of introducing the world of robotics, technology and science to children. The festival will be held on 17 December 2022, at Primary School Savremena in Belgrade, starting at 10 a.m. It is intended for children aged 6 to 10 and, although it is not basically designed as a competition, those who come up with the most successful solutions will continue working on the project and be a guest at the same festival in Slovenia.

The “FIRST LEGO League Explore” festival is an event that children look forward to for months. It encourages them to experiment and develop their design and construction skills through a fun and hands-on STEM method of work. The robots used are “SPIKE Essential” or “WeDo”. Led by their mentors, the children design and prepare a project on a given topic, build a motorised model out of Lego blocks and make panels and presentations.

At this festival, children enter the world of robotics, technology and science through play, learn how to function in a team and think critically, respect other people’s ideas, exchange experiences and cooperate. This year, as many as 12 teams registered, so we are sure that both children and parents will enjoy seeing numerous interesting ideas and solutions.

This event is also very convenient for children who did not participate in its preparation but come to the festival as guests, where they can enjoy the exhibition of lego figures or join some of the robot workshops organised by Savremena as part of this event. Besides that, the children will also sing karaoke and have many other very diverse and fun activities.
