We started September with health care – Things You Will Never Learn in School

The mission of LINK edu Alliance is to help students become more successful. Success does not come with instructions, nor is determined by a formula – success depends on a special combination of many factors, such as experiences, student talent, dedication, commitment, and the acquisition of skills that set our students apart from others.

Did you know that 35% of people in the world do not know how to sew a button?

We have no doubt that you yourself have wondered why you didn’t have the opportunity to learn some skills that everyone really needs at school.

How to properly take care of your health, how to prepare lunch, fix something around the house, save money, resolve conflict, build self-confidence, learn to defend yourself, take care of others, but also of our environment – these are all things on which the quality of our life directly depends, and which we did not learn on time in school.

The time has come to return education to its true nature and purpose: equipping students with knowledge and skills that will benefit them in real life. That’s why the most comprehensive education in the world is brought to you by the year-round Life Skills Programme at the Primary School Savremena!

Life Skills Programme – Things You Will Never Learn in School

The Life Skills Programme is a carefully designed eight-year curriculum that lasts throughout the whole school year and students’ schooling in our educational system, with the goal of acquiring skills that make students versatile, independent, and capable citizens.

During this programme, students will really have the opportunity to use their hands, brains, creativity, teamwork, and imagination. Through practical experience, trials and errors, under the supervision of teachers and experts, students will change bicycle tires, knead and bake bread, sew buttons, learn how to trade cryptocurrencies and trade on the stock market, play instruments, sculpt, plant trees, learn self-defence skills, write business letters, make business plans, change light bulbs, work on themselves and their emotions and many other things without which life is unimaginable.

Every month, students will participate in different workshops during which they will acquire new knowledge and skills.

September in the sign of health care

September was marked by the first workshops in the field of health care, so we had the opportunity to learn how to take care of our health and how to eat healthily.

On Thursday, September 15, a paediatric nurse and nutritionist Tanja Stevanović, who selflessly shares her knowledge with all families via the blog „Dobro jutro, mama”, gathered the students of Primary School Savremena and talked about what is a balanced meal, how to listen to our body and its needs, but also why we must not eat in front of the television.

Students from first to eighth grade realised how important it is to eat different food and shared their healthy habits with their peers. Sixth graders taught us why it is important to eat before training, but never right before physical activities, while first graders taught us that sandwiches can be extremely healthy.

The smiles on the faces of our students already announce a challenging school year full of new knowledge and skills necessary for life, which, after all, we can gain only in Primary School Savremena!
