We enjoyed the best view of Belgrade – from the roof of a bus

An exciting open-top tour of the city for the students

It’s not unusual for Savremena’s students to spend time outside the school in a productive and original fashion. This time, we organised a truly different activity for them: an open-top bus tour around Belgrade.

SAILING DOWN THE CITY IN THE SUNSHINE

Sunny weather, sightseeing, and a comfortable bus ride – these are the ingredients of a perfect school trip. Year 3 and Year 4 students will forever cherish the open-top bus tour around Belgrade, during which they listened to many interesting stories from the city’s rich history.

During this open-tour bus tour entitled “Belgrade, your host”, the students learnt a lot, mostly about the spirit of our capital city.

The guide talked about what Belgradians are like – casual, fun, outgoing, and pleasant. They love to walk and be outside, which is why the streets, cafes, restaurants, and shops are always full of people. “Most importantly, Belgradians are open to everyone”, added the guide.

AFTER THE TOUR, WE WENT STRAIGHT TO THE PARK FOR DESSERT

While talking about the spirit of the city, the bus passed many of the capital’s famous streets and landmarks – King Alexander’s Boulevard, Slavija Square, Kralja Milana Street, Terazije, Kolarčeva Street, Republic Square, Pariska Street, Branko’s Bridge, as well as several boulevards in New Belgrade, such as the Mihajlo Pupin Boulevard.

The stops were at the House of the National Assembly, the 25th of May Museum, the Students’ Square, and at the beginning of Kralja Petra Street. Teacher Branka Đurović took the students on this unusual trip and gave a truly different history and culture lesson – atop a tour bus!

After the exciting bus ride that lasted 1.5 hours, the little ones headed to Tašmajdan Park, where they enjoyed refreshing desserts.
