“SECRET FRIEND” AMONG SAVREMENA’S STUDENTS AND A JOYFUL EXCHANGE OF PRESENTS
Last week, Savremena’s students played “Secret Friend”. In the festive spirit of the upcoming holidays, each day they left notes, drawings and small gifts for their classmates.
At the end of the event, the school organised a New Year’s Corner Day, during which the students and teachers made New Year’s cards and decorations for the Christmas tree and the fireplace in the school hallway.
Each class coloured the decorations in the colours of their class: 1 and 5 – blue, 2 – green, 3 – red, 4 – yellow, and the students also added their names. They decorated the Christmas tree, the hallway and their favourite room, thus showing their creativity and imagination.
The final event was the exchange of presents, which took place on Tuesday, 17 December, by the Christmas tree in the hallway, where each student had a present with the name and class of their secret friend.
ORIGINAL NEW YEAR’S PRESENTS FROM SECRET FRIENDS
The creative students are great friends, which is why they wanted to make, draw or write most of the gifts, which included interesting cards, letters and drawings, and they invested great effort in the colourful wrappings.
The teachers and the Principal left presents for each other, as they were also infected by the “Secret Friend” fever.
Of course, everyone was delighted with the game.
Once all the presents were opened and the secret friends unveiled, each class had a lesson in which the students thanked each other for the gifts and revealed how they chose their secret friends.
PRAISE FOR OUR THOUGHTFUL STUDENTS AND GOOD FRIENDS
We would like to commend all Savremena’s primary students, as each one of them enthusiastically accepted this game and devoted much care and patience to prepare a surprise for their friends. The teachers said that throughout the week, the students were excited and curious because the secret friend was skilful and hard to discover.
Suffice it to say that all the students were delighted with the game that helped them get to know their friends even better. They couldn’t wait to come to school and surprise their friends, and see what their secret friends had prepared for them.
The students learnt that the greatest value of a present is not its material aspect, but the time and effort we put into making something creative and the joy and gratitude we feel for the little things in life.
We wish all the students and teachers lots of shared moments and similar events in the following year!
