Savremena’s students take their skills to volleyball court

A huge sports cheer from Savremena

Schoolchildren take part in a number of sports activities, developing new skills that will remain useful through life. Savremena’s students do great in team and individual sports alike. Last week, they proved how well they do on a volleyball court.

Last week, older students competed in a volleyball tournament. Savremena’s students like sporting events at school a lot, and they are quite motivated to participate.

Among students from grades 5 through 8, the class 7-2 came out on top, with Ana and Dunja Ljuština and Marko Makoj standing out as MVPs of sorts. In the deciding match, they faced the class 4-2, featuring the exceptional Mia Milošević and Đina Đinović.

At the very end, the winners of the tournament, class 7-2, had to face the teachers’ team.
For the most part, the game was quite undecided; in the end, the teachers won… Barely.

Sporting friendship and team spirit are the most valuable takeaways from a tournament. Sometimes one team wins, sometimes another, but all children are talented and they always show what a good volleyball match looks like.

Support is everpresent at Savremena and we find it quite heartening that the rest of the students cheered sincerely – some for the teachers, some for 7-2, which made for a phenomenal atmosphere at the school court.

It has already become obvious how important sport is and how much it helps Savremena’s students grow up into honest people. Also, through regularly engaging in sports activities, Savremena’s students benefit in the following aspects:

  • adequate growth and development;
  • improved balance and coordination;
  • improved sleep quality and healthier habits;
  • developing self-confidence and character;
  • awareness that sport and life alike include both victories and defeats;
  • protection from many vices of our time.
