Savremena’s explorers set out on Kalemegdan Treasure Hunt

Discovering new secrets of history and “sweetening” the adventure

Second-grade students engaged in another truly different activity – the Kalemegdan Treasure Hunt. The students enjoyed their time as explorers and made the most of the opportunity to unveil many secrets and learn something new about the history of Kalemegdan.

At Savremena, fun and learning go hand in hand. This is why the teachers designed this extraordinary treasure hunt, choosing no less than the Belgrade Fortress for the scene of the search.

This is one of the ways in which Savremena continues to be an inspiring environment that encourages the students’ creativity and cultural awareness, both in and out of the classroom.

Many things happened when the second-graders came to Kalemegden, but smiles on their faces were a constant throughout. Having divided into teams and heard the rules, they started the contest, whose aim was to locate the hidden treasure in the form of a chocolate delicacy using a map and a compass.

This adventure was designed to help the students see Belgrade from an entirely different perspective and broaden their knowledge about the history of Kalemegdan. Their questions were innumerable and the day was brimming with fresh topics for conversation. This is how Savremena brings its “classroom without walls” concept to life.

Primary School Savremena adopted this concept based on successful educational examples worldwide; its implementation is one of the things that truly sets this school apart in a great way. Along with the adoption of new knowledge, outdoor games drive better academic results, as they are excellent for the development of cognitive, motor and intellectual skills.

We look forward to future adventures!
