Life Skills Programme – who’s afraid of fire anymore?!

A workshop on Fire Safety was held at Savremena

Primary School Savremena really provides knowledge and skills that you cannot learn anywhere else and that are important for life – that’s why it’s truly different!

On Thursday, 8 December, the students spent time with Mina Milosavljević, fire and emergency protection associate, who taught us how to act responsibly and prevent a fire, but also how to behave in emergency situations, who to call and how to react if a fire does occur.

We learned that there are stringent laws that prevent fires from happening in the first place, but we also realised that fires are very common, and that’s why we shouldn’t play with matches, lighters, fireworks, and household appliances that can cause fires.

We saw what a wall hydrant looks like, but also learned that a fire is extinguished with a special powder, with the help of hand-held fire extinguishers.

If a fire does occur, we realised that it is very important to follow the instructions, to call the fire department by dialling 193 and to evacuate safely.

We thank Mina for this creative workshop that taught us how to stay safe, so now we can freely say – who’s afraid of fire anymore?!
