Interesting workshops and ideas for the festive season

Creative ideas and holiday magic of modern students

Savremena’s primary school students joined the school counsellor for a highly creative analysis of their performance regarding reading and writing.

As a kind of homework assignment for the winter break, the students received advice and game recommendations aimed at developing and fostering specific cognitive functions.

First the school counsellor Marija Bunjevčev conducted mini-interviews about New Year’s workshops with junior students. Also, their individual achievements in reading and writing were assessed and presented in progression charts.

During the first two weeks of December, first-graders, together with their teachers and school counsellor, carried out three New Year’s workshops based on their mini-interviews.

Students in class 1/1 answered three questions: Where does Santa Claus live? Who does he live with? What’s his house like? Here are some of our brainiacs’ responses:

Of course I believe in Santa Claus. Do you know why? Because last year he came very late in the day and brought me a present. And I know that my parents and brother couldn’t have bought it because the shops aren’t open late, and they wouldn’t leave me alone at night, as well. Santa Claus lives on the North Pole, somewhere in a house with lamps; the address is written on the house.

“Our time” – learning and having fun together

In order for students to retain their high level of knowledge, a proposal for games which the students can play with their parents during the winter holidays was made for school children in Years 1 through 4, with the aim of encouraging the development and nurturing of certain cognitive functions.

Now, when the children are on a well-deserved break, we are sending them a proposal of games for the holidays that they can practice together with their parents. We called this entertaining exercise “Our Time.”

I believe in Santa Claus. I saw something flying through the window and it must have been him. He lives on the North Pole, in a big house behind a wall so that no one can see it in Santa Claus village. It’s brown and the reindeer live with him in the house.

Aleksandar

What would you wish others for New Year’s? Here are some of the answers:

I wish children without parents could find them somewhere; I also want all of us to get great things.

Tomislav

I would like all people to feel nice and to have all their wishes come true. And may every child be beautiful and smart.

Ema

After the mini-interview, the students took part in a workshop in which they decorated presents which contained their wishes for others.
