Great results of Savremena students in the Kangaroo without Borders contest

Our students received 10 commendations for the knowledge demonstrated in the maths contest

Students of our school won 10 commendations for the results achieved in the international maths contest held in over 90 countries, which continues the tradition of our successful participation in the popular Kangaroo.

Our winning streak continues! Students of junior grades of primary school, mentored by teachers Danijela Kleut, Branka Đurović and Mirjana Ilić, demonstrated an outstanding level of maths knowledge in the Kangaroo without Borders contest, the results of which have just arrived.

The aim of this extremely popular school contest is to increase children’s interest in mathematics and sciences, as well as to improve their logical and combinatorial thinking, reading comprehension, and application of acquired maths knowledge.

Students from over 90 countries analyse and solve the same problems. Representatives of Primary School Savremena have become regulars in the Kangaroo contest, and great results have become a tradition.

AT SAVREMENA, MATHS IS LEARNED WITH A SMILE

Maths lessons at Primary School Savremena are fun, applicable, creative and inventive. Thanks to the efforts of their dedicated teachers, Savremena students acquire maths knowledge without stress, and at a great pace. Students implement the concepts and operations they learnt in multidisciplinary classes to simulate a landing on Mars, build wind turbines and solar panels using LEGO blocks, as well as in programming classes and other subjects.

By playing engaging maths games, children easily develop an interest in this important science without the fear they might have developed had the classes not been so creative and interesting. According to research, creative games can play a decisive role in determining whether children will be successful in a certain school subject, or underperform due to the lack of creativity.

For Savremena students, maths is not something to be avoided and feared, but a fun and useful subject.
