Graduation ceremony for the first generation of graduates of Primary School Savremena

An evening filled with emotions in Primary School Savremena courtyard

After successfully passing the state matura (matriculation) exams, the first generation of Savremena graduates celebrated the end of their primary education on June 29, in the company of their parents and teachers.

Savremena teachers and Jasmina Franolić, Principal of Primary School Savremena, agreed that seeing the first generation of graduates leave school is a very poignant moment filled with emotions, and that they are extremely proud of the people their students have grown into.

During their stay in Savremena, various shared memories and many unbreakable friendships were created. Our students will surely remember this period of their life with great fondness.

None of the attendees could hide their pride, nor their tears of joy, and the Principal addressed the parents of the graduates in her moving speech, emphasizing the importance of this day for their families and children, but also for Primary School Savremena, because this is the very first generation of graduates to ever come out of our school.

She also said that there are special moments in the life of every school – the first being the day when the children and their parents set foot in Savremena. It is the real birthday of every school, and the second most important moment is when we send the first generation of graduates off to continue their education.

She underlined how proud everyone is of our little graduates – proud of their exemplary behavior and honesty, and that whether they will be successful in their continued education depends on them. Savremena made sure to provide them with the conditions for advancement, and we believe they will know how to use that to their advantage.

Student valedictorian announced at the ceremony

Jakša Medan was declared student valedictorian, and Una Janković and Vuk Milutinović took the flattering title of the Generation Student Achievement Award. A number of straight-A students received awards in the form of books and diplomas for exceptional achievement in particular areas, and the best of the best received valuable awards.

We are very pleased we have fulfilled our mission and that the time spent in Savremena has made our graduates into happy children, and prepared them to become successful adults in this era of continuous change. They have grown into well-educated, accomplished and versatile personalities.

The ceremony ended with the shooting of colorful confetti and toasts with non-alcoholic champagne in honor of our student’s new beginning. In the end, we wished them “Good luck!”.
