First-graders on a research adventure on Ada

The most exciting school year so far has just begun, and the first-graders of Primary School Savremena had their first adventure

We have started another one of the exciting school years in which, in addition to dynamic classes, numerous memorable extracurricular activities await us. The first in a series of activities is an unforgettable adventure on Ada during which, through carefully designed activities, our first-graders were productive, spent quality time together, and had a lot of fun.

Endless fun through outdoor nature games and making new friends

The smiles of our first-graders said it all. From starting the school trip to returning to school, the students did not hide their thrill and positive impressions. What made this magical school trip even more special was the cooperation between the children, because they did everything as a team. We can learn a lot from the children, and in addition to their dexterity and teamwork, we were particularly impressed by their initiative and desire to make friends. We can already say that this generation will for sure be a harmonious group of children who will nurture friendship.

Together they tried out many games that were carefully designed especially for them and adapted to their age. On Ada, they were greeted by rowing experts, archery professionals, and specially trained nature guides, and all of them immediately embarked on day-long adventures.

Through orienteering, our little explorers learned how to use a compass and a map, and with the help of mountaineering equipment, they tried out the zip line. Some of the children overcame their fear of heights through this form of entertainment.

The boys especially liked the accuracy competition. Even if it was just for a short time, they sailed into the world of archery and recalled the adventures of Robin Hood. With a real bow and arrow, the children competed in this discipline as well.

They spent the sunny day having fun on the water also. While rowing on boats that look like the ships of the mighty Vikings, the children tried to complete their tasks in the shortest possible time.

Furthermore, one cannot but wonder, what kind of a school trip in nature would it be if the children did not try out making a camp? They learned how to set up a tent, how to light a fire, what is a primus, what is a prusik, and what knots are for.

They returned from the school trip with a lot of new experiences and they can’t wait for the next adventures.

The effect of extracurricular activities on students’ creative abilities

Creativity is innate in each of us, and it can be seen most easily in children because they learn and discover the world through play and imagination. At Primary School Savremena, we take care to ensure that students develop their creative abilities and reach their full potential.

One of the ways that help students achieve success is through specially designed extracurricular activities in nature that allow students to develop creativity, improve physical dexterity, combine informal play and formal learning, show their knowledge, ideas and abilities and thus encourage the development of self-confidence and self-esteem.
