Emotional goodbye to our friend Neca
The second-grader is moving to Holland
Primary School Savremena’s Year 2 student, Nemanja Mitić, is moving to Holland from where he will attend our school. This was a chance for his friends and teacher to bid him farewell and wish him all the best.
Nemanja, his friends, and teacher Branka had the best year at Savremena. Although education systems around the world had a peculiar year due to the pandemic, the situation united Savremena’s students even more. They were in constant contact, learning in a truly different manner while adhering to all safety measures.
Neca’s friends made a collage of memories for him that included their hand prints and a photo with Nemanja. They also wrote messages for their friend who is leaving. All of this was included in an album made by the parents, students and teacher Branka Đurović.
“Dear Neca, sweet boy. Move bravely forward, be courageous, spread your wings, dream, fly and think of us every night. Stay healthy, stay happy, make your dreams come true, shape the world according to your vision, and make new friends. You’re our Savremena student, proudly wearing green; we’re eagerly waiting to hear about your new adventure.”
However, it was not just his class that organised the party; his parents also contributed with a sweet surprise. His mum brought sweets with the Primary School Savremena logo. This showed the closeness of the students, parents and teachers fostered in this school.
Finally, we should point out that Nemanja will only be physically apart, as he will continue his education at the most modern school in the region. He will pick up where he left off by attending lessons online. This means that we will have another story about Neca and his life in Holland. We’re guessing this will happen during his next visit to Belgrade, when he decides to surprise his friends.
