Autumn exhibition at primary school savremena brings good vibes
Savremena’s young artists collect autumn fruits and make incredible creations
Autumn has arrived and schools always have an interesting way of greeting this unique season. Of course, Savremena does it in a truly different manner.
With lots of dedication and imagination, the primary school students used different materials and autumn “fruits” to create impressive pieces for the autumn exhibition.
Creativity in action – leaves in autumn colours, paper, twigs, glue and colours. Acorns, pine cones and chestnuts transformed the lesson into an unusual art workshop, and the students’ creations were truly at a high level.
Their ideas illustrated an abundance of talent! And the result was a collection of works that made the teachers very proud. The workshop inspires children’s creativity and challenges the stereotype about autumn as a depressing season. For a moment or two, the classroom became a park. Or a forest.
The autumn collection of works created by Savremena’s students comprises drawings and interesting autumn fruits. The pieces are the little artists’ response to the question: How would you present autumn and what does it mean to you?
If we think about these pieces, we can feel the autumn colours: yellow, copper, light and dark green. We feel the withering of nature and the lightness of the leaves that have fallen and become wonderful art objects. The once green treetops now have a different kind of glow. Although the branches are bare, the cooper leaves crackle on the ground. They crack and are not easy to glue together. But the decorative activities using natural “tools” seem so easy and accessible.
Silhouettes and animals made out of leaves; an image created by rubbing the leaves onto the paper; drawing on leaves; connecting chestnut shells and pine cones and gluing them onto the paper; framing leaves and finger-painting autumn. And much more. There were so many marvellous ideas, and the magic little fingers turned them into works of art in no time.
Finally, why is this so important? Here are at least three reasons: there are lots of materials everywhere for playing with this topic, which makes it easy and natural for children to connect with the current season. Also, it’s a great way for the kids to learn about autumn. And of course, it’s so much fun.
Primary school students, congratulations on the autumn collection.
