Another joyful Children's Week at Primary School Savremena

Every week is children's week, but only one reminds us of that

Once again this year, students and teachers from Primary School Savremena participated in the celebration of Children’s Week, the largest national event for the protection and promotion of children’s rights.

Children’s Week took place from 2 to 8 October and was of course filled with children, laughter, creative ideas and cheerful competitions. Under the slogan “Veliko srce dece Srbije”, we managed to make the bond between our students even stronger through a multitude of activities.

The most active participants were undoubtedly the lower-grades students. Together with their teachers, in a thematically organised programme, they learned about how children can contribute to making the world a better place. Our little ones had fun and also learned a lot through various sports games, drawing, dancing, and group choreography. Perhaps the most exciting event was the masquerade ball, which concluded with a festive parade.

In addition to the activities organised at the school, students from Primary School Savremena also took part in citywide competitions organised in honour of the Children’s Week. We are particularly proud of our student Kasija Janković from class VI-2, who won second place in an art competition organised by the society “Prijatelji dece opštine Novi Beograd”. Using tempera on paper, Kasija skillfully depicted the famous monument “Pobednik” in Belgrade within the theme “Beograd po meri dece”.

And so, filled with fun events, another Children’s Week came to an end. We at Savremena look forward to everything that is to come, and we know that we should care for and support children every day of the year. This event served as a reminder to everyone of that important principle.
