World Teachers’ Day at Savremena: Knowledge Begins with Support, Trust and a Great Teacher
On 5 October, a day dedicated to teachers around the world, Savremena celebrates those who inspire, guide and encourage pupils to progress every day
World Teachers’ Day, celebrated on 5 October, is an opportunity to recognise the important role teachers play in every child’s development. Their work goes far beyond passing on knowledge. Every day, they encourage pupils to ask questions, try again, explore their interests and become more confident in their own abilities.
At Savremena Primary School, the relationship between pupils and teachers is an important part of the educational experience. A good teacher understands that every child learns at a different pace, has different interests and demonstrates their strengths in their own way. This is why an individual approach is so important in creating an environment where pupils can develop with confidence.
Alongside academic content, teachers also pass on valuable life lessons. Through their own example, they demonstrate patience, responsibility, cooperation and respect for others. They encourage pupils not to see mistakes as failures, but as a natural part of the learning process.
World Teachers’ Day is therefore an opportunity to recognise something that cannot always be measured by grades, but often leaves the greatest impression: the support, trust and words of encouragement that pupils carry with them long after a lesson has ended.

Teachers Who Recognise Every Child’s Potential
Modern education requires much more than simply delivering information. Today, teachers help pupils understand what they are learning, connect ideas, reach conclusions independently and develop the curiosity that motivates them to continue exploring.
This approach is an important part of learning at Savremena Primary School. Pupils are given space to ask questions, discuss ideas, explore and demonstrate their interests, while teachers guide and encourage them to discover their own path towards a solution.
Recognising individual potential is also an important part of this process. One pupil may excel in mathematics, another in languages, sport, art or creative projects. A teacher’s role is to recognise these differences, support them and help each pupil develop confidence in their abilities.
This relationship creates an environment in which children know they can ask questions, make mistakes, try again and progress. This is one of the greatest strengths of meaningful education: pupils do not simply receive answers, but develop independence, critical thinking and a genuine desire to keep learning.
World Teachers’ Day reminds us just how important the people who guide pupils through this process every day are to their development.
Much More Than Knowledge from a Textbook
Memories of school are often connected not only with lessons and grades, but with the people who knew when a child needed additional support, a new challenge or simply a few encouraging words.
Through these everyday moments, teachers have an opportunity to influence much more than academic achievement. They help pupils develop responsibility, perseverance, independence and respect for others. A good teacher encourages a child to believe in their own ideas while also learning to listen to different perspectives.
At Savremena, education is therefore designed as an experience in which the pupil plays an active role and the teacher guides, supports and motivates them to take the next step.
On World Teachers’ Day, 5 October, special recognition goes to all teachers whose knowledge, energy and dedication create an environment in which children can grow every day.
Behind every new question, every challenge overcome and every pupil who has become a little more confident, there is often a teacher who knew exactly how to encourage them.
