WE PARTICIPATED IN THE INTERNATIONAL BEAVER COMPUTING CHALLENGE

In late November, our students in Years 2, 3, 4 and 5 took part in the international Beaver Computing Challenge which took place in Savremena.

ABOUT THE FORMAT

The students solved problems on their computers and achieved great results. Savremena’s students were satisfied with their performance and happy to have taken part in an international competition. We wish them plenty of luck in next year’s contest.

The tasks in the Beaver competition are designed to develop the students’ problem solving skills, algorithmic thinking, logical problem solving and the correct use of information technologies. The interactive and entertaining tasks enable the students to explore key IT areas.

The contest was organised by our ICT teacher, Dragan Kreculj, with the help from his colleagues at Primary School Savremena.

We want to show that the computer is not just a device that helps you communicate, browse the Internet, process text, listen to music and watch films. It is also a limitless source of interesting logical problems, which is why computer work is never boring, states the promotional material for the Beaver challenge.

The Beaver Computing Challenge was first held in Lithuania in 2004. Since then, more than 60 countries have taken part, while in Serbia, it has been organised since 2013.
