WALKING CAREFULLY ON THE SIDEWALK
RESPECTING RULES AND TEACHER’S GOOD WORK
Savremena’s students master traffic rules
When is the right time to teach children the basics of traffic? At the earliest age! The earlier they learn the traffic rules, the better for them. It is greatly important that young children learn how to recognise dangerous situations and act accordingly.
A fun and educational lesson about traffic gave second-graders an opportunity to fully understand why they should be careful in traffic, but also – to build their self-confidence and understand that traffic rules are not very threatening; that their main use is, in fact, to make everyone safe from any threat that might occur.
POETRY MAKES LEARNING RULES EASIER
As you can see from this original piece of poetry the students made with a little help from their teacher, II-3 learned about traffic participants, the concept of traffic, how to walk properly on the sidewalk and how to cross the street.
Class II-3 took off their masks
Ready for some outdoor tasks.
Always mindful of the curb
So as no one to disturb.
Walking carefully on the sidewalk
Respecting rules and teacher’s good work.
Crossing the street was a breeze
Knowledge lets us move with ease.
Traffic light one, two and three
Knowledge makes us proud and free.
PLAY AND REPETITION FOR IMPROVING CHILDREN’S CONCENTRATION IN TRAFFIC
Children’s field of vision and their perception are not the same as a grown person’s. As children are smaller, they often perceive and notice a number of smaller events in the environment. Their concentration can be broken by the smallest detail. This is why practicing concentration with children is very important. Luckily, Savremena is a truly different school, where lessons are 100% interesting and hold the students’ attention, which leads to improved perception, listening and knowledge adoption.
What has been learned should also be repeated. This is why the students came up with this little poem, which will always remind them of this lesson and the things they learned from it, and it will help them feel safer in traffic.
