Junior students of Savremena returned from the recreational field trip with smiles on their faces, and filled with impressions, anecdotes and stories that will one day become precious memories. They have recharged their batteries, and are now ready for work and upcoming school duties.  

Recreational field trips are one of the favorite adventures for children where they learn about life in the community, develop independence, and obtain new knowledge and experiences through learning, play and fun. 

Field trip allowed students to get some rest, and enjoy spending time outdoors in the fresh air

On the way to their destination, students stopped at the Žiča Monastery. They found out who built the monastery, when it was built, and they learnt that it is believed to have been named after corn (Serbian “žito”). After the story about the monastery, the students walked around its beautifully built garden and took photos as a memory of the visit.

They continued their trip to Vrnjačka Banja and arrived at the Breza Hotel.

In the following days, Savremena students toured Vrnjačka Banja and its famous hot springs of healing water used for therapeutic purposes: Topla voda, Snežnik, Slatina, Jezero.

They dedicated one whole day to Goč, where they visited the famous Lake Selište, took a walk around the great meadows of the mountain, and enjoyed its beautiful landscapes.

The day before the return trip to Belgrade, they went to Ljubostinja Monastery and learnt that it’s the first women’s monastery in Serbia and princess Milica’s endowment. Legend has it that it was here that the princess laid eyes on prince Lazar for the first time and they fell in love. One theory claims that is how the monastery got its name.

During their visit to Vrnjačka Banja, the students socialised and took pleasure in the city’s natural beauty, and the weather was also convenient. We are sure they came back from the trip with lovely memories they’ll remember for the rest of their lives.

Recreational field trips are crucial in helping children develop independence

During recreational field trips, children establish and nurture friendships, learn social skills and assertiveness, form healthy self-confidence, gain experience of life in the community, acquire knowledge, develop a love of nature, and learn about the importance of environmental protection.

We are happy that our students enjoyed their trip and returned brimming with impressions.
