Three charity campaigns ahead of the festive season
Helping hospitals and children’s homes and food donations for those in need
Savremena’s students often show empathy for those who really need our help. This time, they launched an initiative for as many as three charity events to be realised in early December.
Events include a food donation that will be carried out via the “A Meal for a Family” Facebook page, whereby the students will collect meals for families in dire straits.
Thermometers for the Institute for Mother and Child
In the first campaign, we’re donating thermometers to the Institute for Health Protection of Mother and Child in New Belgrade, which we’d helped in the past. This time, we’ve learnt that due to the current epidemic their demand for thermometers has increased; they need all kinds – standard ones with mercury, digital and non-contact thermometers. We hope this will improve the conditions in this institution dedicated to the health protection of children.
Students in Years 1 through 4 and their parents are invited to take part in this charity event.
Warm clothes for the Drop-In Centre
The second charity campaign refers to collecting warm clothes for the children at the Drop-In Centre in Belgrade. Due to the coronavirus epidemic, most children cannot leave their house or don’t feel safe to do so, which has slowed down the process of donating clothes to those in need. This has, therefore, been the perfect opportunity to donate clothes to the children visiting the Drop-In Centre, who live in informal housing, mostly in extreme poverty.
If you have warm clothes – jackets, jumpers, trousers, or shoes – for children aged 5–15, as well as personal hygiene products, please wrap them up nicely and brighten up someone’s winter.
We are sure that our initiative and altruism will triumph.
