Introducing children to the animal world is nice and useful because it is in the nature of most children to love animals, and if through education we encourage them to treat animals kindly and have patience with them, they will develop empathy, care for nature, and the animals that live in it, as well as learn good behavior.

Big and small animals love, teach, and delight children, and offer them a special kind of entertainment

In addition to the fact that the students of Primary School Savremena created wonderful memories during their visit to the zoo, they also learned many new interesting facts during this close encounter with the animals. They were enchanted by unusual animal species originating from other parts of the world, and the main star attracted the most attention – the oldest American alligator on the planet, the popular Muja, who has lived in the Belgrade Zoo since 1936.

The students carefully toured the zoo complex, observed how the animals behaved, and discussed among themselves the abilities of animals that can fly, see in the dark, move at high speed, and live underwater. 

These exciting abilities make animals attractive and fascinating to children. That’s why animals are excellent teachers. By observing animals and interacting with them, students enriched their knowledge of nature and society and learned more about the characteristics of animals, how they climb the tops of trees, fly, hibernate, dig underground, jump high, breathe underwater, walk on walls and hang upside down.

The children were beyond delighted and happy. We wouldn’t be surprised if students who don’t have pets in their homes after this visit told their parents about buying or adopting pets because the opportunity to pet and care for tame animals in the zoo made them so happy, and it awoke the desire to have and take care of a pet.
