The students of I-a class of the Primary School 21 May from Podgorica, with their teacher Snežana Leovac, and the students of I-2 class of Savremena Primary, with their teacher Danica Nikolić, have had a lesson together. Thanks to the ZOOM app, regardless of the physical distance, the peers, from their respective classrooms, attended the lesson together while taking active participation in it.

During their schooling at Savremena, our students have the opportunity to use state-of-the-art technology, which has been carefully selected in order to enable them to acquire new knowledge in an interesting and efficient manner. Besides traditional skills and competences they gain and develop from the first to eighth grade, Savremena students have the opportunity to familiarize with technology and learn how to use various apps while making their first steps in the IT world.

WHEN FRIENDSHIPS ARE BORN, BORDERS DISAPPEAR

A good thing about technology is that it enables you to talk to people from all over the world in real time. This week Savremena Primary School students have started their lesson with smiles and greetings. From the first Hello guys! they said to their peers from Podgorica, it was clear that new friendships are to be born.

After the students’ introduction was over, each class presented their respective states by having every student saying something typical about their countries. Later, they continued by asking each other questions about their schools, lessons, activities they like and interests.

This lesson was very interesting and we were happy to learn that some of the Primary 21 May students had explored the Savremena Primary website and expressed their wish to visit us one day. All the students were thrilled and they found it so interesting to be able to talk to each other. They hoped to have another lesson like this one soon.

The most precious period in a child’s life is the time when schooling starts, when a child gets to know new friends and starts gaining acquaintanceships and building friendships. The child’s adaptation to school implies his/her readiness to accept new obligations and, more importantly, other children and their differences. It can often be heard that technology alienates people. But if its interesting feature is considered and if it is wisely used, children can learn how to cherish friendship with the little help of technology.
