Having discovered that the approaching 5 October is World Teachers’ Day, the students of Savremena came up with a brilliant idea – to make a congratulations card for their teachers over the weekend and show their gratitude.

The children were up to the task – remaining mysterious, they managed to keep their secret from the teachers. Each class was impatiently awaiting the arrival of the teachers at 8:30. When they finally arrived, Savremena reverberated with cheerful children’s voices cheering in unison:

“Happy World Teachers’ Day!”

Afterward, they presented their congratulations cards to the teachers, hugging them. Teachers were genuinely surprised and the students proved they could keep a secret, because they weren’t discovered. Teacher of IV-1 class, Danijela Kleut was touched:

“This is a genuine surprise! I didn’t expect them to bring the cards. It was wonderful! I am amazed how much effort and love was invested in making those cards!”

Students with creativity and a way with words

Education at Savremena encourages creativity and discovers new talents on daily basis. Various school clubs and creative classes, among other things, taught students to make a collage and various other things using paper, so they applied their knowledge in practice, designing creative congratulations cards. One of the students from II-2 demonstrated her way with words by writing the following poem:

In my teacher’s classroom, there’s smile on every face.
Order and discipline hold sway, industry and passion on display.
She has a nice word for everyone, and if there’s a problem, she won’t run.
Her beaming smile to every child will fly like bees in the fields nearby.
My teacher Persida like a star shines bright, and love is in our hearts alight.

World Teachers’ Day

World Teachers’ Day is observed on 5 October and the goal of celebrating this day is to show our gratitude to all teachers who do their job the best they can, creating engaging activities to inspire interest and love of the environment in every child. Smiling children’s faces are the most precious thing in the world, and teachers at Savremena are capable of fulfilling this goal, and making sure children leave our school with knowledge and smiles.
