By celebrating Science Corner Day with truly different and interesting workshops, Savremena students got to know the fun side of science, thus falling in love with it. Curious glances, endless questions, and participation in the workshops showed students what a science adventure really looks like. They got to know the world of science from a completely different angle, and had fun as well.

Getting to know the living world, discussions about nature, and adopting programming as a way of thinking

Fun never ends at Savremena. From the beginning until the very end, the excitement and interest of our students never wavered. First, they took on the roles of Savremena biologists with curiosity, familiarizing themselves with the realm of unicellular organisms, dissecting fish and earthworms, and discussing diversity among insects.

VR glasses have become a must-have accessory for all true fans of the virtual world. When technology is properly implemented in education, student interest in the given topic can only grow and expand. Participants of the Man workshop used VR glasses to observe different organ systems in the human body, and understand how the human organism functions. They closely followed the execution of two experiments: one on the harmful effects of tobacco smoke on human lungs, and the other on calculating lung capacity.

Savremena is a future-ready school in every sense of the word. We introduce students to the modern world from the very first day of school, showing them how to develop their creativity through technology. Savremena programmers presented their ideas for mobile apps they had been working on in the previous weeks in front of an expert jury, as part of the workshop AI and Programming, thus gaining knowledge of micro:bit programming.

Necessary knowledge about the need for environmental protection

Thanks to an innovative approach to environmental topics, students are encouraged to contribute to the protection and conservation of natural resources through simple, everyday actions. Savremena is dedicated to environmental protection, and as part of the important international program Eco School, it was important to conduct the experiment Let’s protect our green spaces, and hold a lecture on recycling. Savremena environmentalists particularly enjoyed the creative recycling workshop, where they made useful items using discarded plastic bottles, tin cans and paper.

We have proved that physics can be fun

Children are the essence of honesty. That is why Savremena strives to help children to always maintain their curiosity and honesty. By participating in the workshop All hands on deck: physics, they realized that the main trait of every scientist is curiosity, because it helps them explore the world. By successfully completing an experiment with Newtonian fluids and Walking on Eggs – Cool Science Experiment, Savremena students finished another truly different day.
