SAVREMENA’S YEAR 5 STUDENTS REVEAL: WHAT’S THE LINK BETWEEN SERBIAN LESSONS, ICT AND SPORTS FAIR?

SAVREMENA’S YEAR 5 STUDENTS REVEAL: WHAT’S THE LINK BETWEEN SERBIAN LESSONS, ICT AND SPORTS FAIR?
Savremena’s Year 5 students are up-to-date with current affairs, which they proved by attending the Sports Fair. On Friday, 22 November, the students attended this event together with their Serbian, ICT and PE teachers.
The students had a great time; they familiarised themselves with different sports and solved tasks linking Serbian language and ICT lessons.
INTERNATIONAL SPORTS FAIR
The 8th edition of the Sports Fair took place in Belgrade. This was an opportunity to thank our athletes for their accomplishments, and Primary School Savremena also showed its respect for the most successful people in this field. This event is visited by famous athletes who are always willing to provide the children and other fairgoers with useful advice.
Savremena’s primary school students adopt healthy habits, familiarise themselves with new sports rules and discover new talents on a daily basis; this was a great opportunity for them to learn new things, showcase their skills and have a go at somewhat different sports.
ADRENALIN AT FREE CLIMBING, SPORTS WORKSHOPS AND DEVELOPING BODY SMART INTELLIGENCE
The students didn’t want to miss the workshops in which they learnt about new sports and sports rules. However, they were most impressed by free climbing, which allowed them to showcase their adventurous spirit.
Not only did we hang out with famous athletes, but we also had a go at some new sports. I particularly liked free climbing. This is a real adventure and an adrenaline rush!
Savremena’s primary students have sports activities and develop healthy habits on a daily basis. This was a great opportunity for them to further develop their body smart intelligence, which helps children with areas that require thinking and focus.
SERBIAN LANGUAGE AND LITERATURE, IT AND SPORTS – KNOWLEDGE BLENDED BY SAVREMENA’S STUDENTS
How come the Serbian and ICT teachers accompanied the students to the Sports Fair? Savremena’s goal is to blend knowledge from as many subjects as possible; to learn through practical examples and develop numerous intelligences, given that the school fosters Howard Gardner’s principle of multiple intelligences.
The visit to the fair enabled the students to develop body smart, word smart, number smart and picture smart intelligences. Namely, the students have a task to present their Sports Fair experience in ICT lessons. We’re sure they will do a fantastic job.

Savremena’s students learn through a personalised and innovative approach, in an inspiring environment enriched with state-of-the-art technology. Thanks to the multidisciplinary approach, the children fully adopt the key skills and knowledge necessary for success in the 21st century.
Developing multiple intelligences through curricular and extracurricular activities and blending knowledge from different areas is the goal of each lesson at Savremena, and the development of 21st-century skills allows the students to evolve into complete personalities.
