Savremena’s students shine at Willkommen foreign lanugage competition
Two students won the highest prizes, while all students had a score over 80%
Results have arrived for the 8th edition of the international Willkommen 2020 foreign language competition that took place late last year.
The year couldn’t have started better for Savremena’s students who put their language skills to the test.
All registered students did really well, while some had the highest scores, making their friends, teachers and the entire school extremely proud.
The 8th edition of the international Willkommen 2020 foreign language competition was an unforgettable experience for Savremena’s students. Eighteen of them took part in English, German and French contests, and their results, according to the preliminary ranking, ranged from 85% to 100%. Students attending primary schools in which English is the first foreign language (grades 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8) were eligible for the competition, as well as those studying German as a second language (grades 5, 6, 7 and 8) or French (grades 5, 6, 7 and 8). Apart from primary school students, secondary school students also participated in the competition.
Once the final ranking was published, the celebration began.
Year 6 student Lilita Milčić won first place and qualified for the second round of the English language contest, making us all very proud. Her classmate Aleksa Rikić achieved an excellent result in French (there was no second round this year). In addition to gold medals, prizes included Amazon vouchers, and you can see the results here.
The chain of events in the second round was also beneficial for our great contestant, Lilita Milčić, who confirmed her previous result by winning first place in the second round. The great student is the pride and hope of Primary School Savremena.
This edition of the prestigious competition was carried out entirely via an online platform. In order to take part, the students were required to do qualification tests for each Year. First-round tests comprised three parts: reading comprehension, language in use, and essay. The final-round test consisted of four parts: listening, reading comprehension, essay, and conversation.
Congratulations to all polyglots on their amazing results and skills.
