SAVREMENA’S PRIMARY SCHOOL STUDENTS COLLECT SCHOOL SUPPLIES FOR THEIR FRIENDS AROUND SERBIA

Savremena’s primary school students spent the beginning of the school year helping their friends from schools around Serbia. Together with other eco-schools, they participated in a big humanitarian campaign:

They collected school supplies for their friends from three primary schools and wished them a successful school year.

Many schools have classes with a small number of students who need school supplies and support so as to enter the new school year without any worries. This is why Savremena’s students, together with their teachers and friends from other eco-schools, decided to take part in this charity campaign.

GIFT BASKETS WITH NOTEBOOKS, PENS, CRAYONS AND OTHER SUPPLIES

The students came to the school with the supplies they wished to donate – colourful notebooks, colouring pencils, pens, pencils, cases, collages, rulers and other items. Their gift baskets also contained personal notes:

I wish you the best school year ever. Use this to write down great ideas! Good luck!

Preparing the gift baskets was both fun and instructive for the students. Together they discussed the campaign and tried to make each package as diverse as possible. They also thought about the messages they placed inside the packages and how they would bring smiles to their friends’ faces.

A LESSON ABOUT HUMANITY: WE MADE SOMEONE HAPPY AND FEEL GOOD ABOUT IT

Savremena’s primary school students showed what it means to care for others. This campaign, as well as the previous ones they participated in, was a lesson in humanity. This time, they expanded their knowledge of charity events, and their messages showed how much they enjoyed doing good:

I made many friends by taking part in charity events and I also learnt what it means to be in need. Today, we’ve made colourful gift baskets and I am glad that we can make other children happy.

STUDENTS FROM OTHER SCHOOLS DELIGHTED BY THEIR FRIENDS’ ENDEAVOUR

Primary schools Toplički heroji from Žitorađa, Dimitrije Todorović Kaplar and Bora Stanković from Vranje were among those that received the gift baskets, and their students were delighted by the presents. The smiles on the children’s faces were proof that the campaign was worthwhile. Savremena’s students will undoubtedly continue to participate in similar events in the future.
