#SAVREMENAKODKUĆE: NO, THE SCHOOL IS NOT CLOSED!
Although it may not seem like it, we at Primary School Savremena don’t find any task too difficult in these extraordinary times. This is for one reason and one reason only – our students.
Savremena’s teachers don’t find it difficult to come to school every day to record the lessons for Savremena’s students, despite the strict precautionary measures currently in force in Serbia. Savremena’s students don’t find it difficult to learn from their homes, serving as an example of good behaviour to everyone who has replaced the classrooms with their rooms. Our principal doesn’t find it difficult to communicate on a daily basis with the teaching staff in order to see how they are getting along with these unusual tasks. We hope that it’s not too difficult for the students’ parents, either.
We do feel slightly sorry that we cannot see each other in the school hallways; that instead of rushing to recess holding hands, we’re talking to each other on the computer while nibbling on an apple; that we refrain from mentioning who we fancy in front of our parents, instead of talking about them secretly at school.
None of this is difficult for us because we are together, united and truly different in these moments. All of us, the students, the teachers and the parents.
We are receiving so many nice words from the parents… Their support means a lot. And it confirms one thing, that which our principal wrote in the fairy tale for a good morning: “NO, THE SCHOOL IS NOT CLOSED, because a school is not a building; it’s the teachers and students, bound by incredible bonds wherever they are”.
So, here are the impressions of Savremena’s parents after just seven days of online lessons. Don’t forget – online communication and learning count.
HERE IS WHAT SOME OF THE STUDENTS AND PARENTS SAID ABOUT LEARNING FROM HOME
Savremena’s parents have provided us with feedback on how their children are getting along with online learning.
Thank you for your dedication and effort. I think we will successfully get through this period. I believe that the greatest advantage is the fact that the children are listening to you, as they are used to your authority and no other teacher could keep their attention. We are very pleased with the way lessons are organised at Savremena; thank you for that. Ana Mitić, Nemanja’s mum
Dear teacher Branka, to say that you have been WONDERFUL today would be an understatement!!! My Antonina was delighted to see you and proud of the fact that she attended your lesson. She even waved. Thank you sooo much! Mirjana Maletić, Antonina’s mum
Dear teacher, good morning. I hope you are well. We are enjoying and eagerly awaiting your lessons. Svetlana Petrović, Konstantin’s mum
This is Pera’s message, and his mum would like to add that you’re doing great and that we’re listening carefully to your lessons. 🙂 Jelena Stamenić, Pera’s mum
Congratulations on your effort and dedication!!! Ognjen is really motivated. Dragana Tesla Simić, Ognjen’s mum
Dear parents, thank you for your kind words. Now is the time to create a truly different learning environment for our children. We are open to your feedback. You can also share your impressions and suggestions on social media using the hashtag #savremenakodkuće.
