Savremena students take part in project “Money school for primary students`` project
We’re developing financial literacy through a selection of activities
The Global Money Week takes place between 21 and 25 March. To mark the occasion, the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development and Erste Bank conducted a project called “Money school for primary students to be equipped to the full”. The project aims to introduce primary school students to financial literacy and help them develop it.
Primary School Savremena Year 4 students fulfilled the aim of the project by coming up with activities for this occasion in an interesting way, through play. They organised a class bazaar where they sold toys, school supplies, key chains, creative arts and crafts they’d made by themselves etc. to each other.
This gave them an opportunity to put their financial literacy skills to the test and revise what they know about money through practical examples, not just through equations they do in maths classes.
Their task now is to work in teams and suggest ways to spend the money they’ve collected. They may decide to buy a new book for their class library, go to the zoo or the cinema, or they may decide to take aside some of it as humanitarian aid.
Classes such as this one teach children how to be independent, acquire all the skills they need, and prepare for the 21s century, which is one of the main reasons why parents chose to enrol their kids in Savremena. Both Savremena and the parents strive to provide the children with the best education possible. Furthermore, Savremena succeeds in doing so! See for yourself what the parents think about this class.
