Savremena's students send greetings from their excursion

Unforgettable fun and loads of laughter

Students of Primary School Savremena are curious little researchers who love to learn, expand their knowledge, and learns new things, and when they get to learn while travelling with friends, fun is guaranteed.

It is impossible to tell who had more fun – students of Years 5 and 6 who headed to Sokobanja, or students of Years 7 and 8 whose destination was Zlatibor, but one thing is certain – they will remember this trip for a long time, because they had the opportunity to experience the natural beauty of our country, as well as its cultural heritage.

Judging by their impressions, they had a wonderful time, and created great memories.

We got to know the beauty of Serbia and expanded our knowledge of history

Students of Years 5 and 6 took a road trip through the history and culture of our people, got to know the beauty of Serbia, and enjoyed numerous legends and stories told by their guide.

They visited the Natural History Center, a unique institution in this part of Europe, and saw The World of Dinosaurs exhibit, discovered the world of minerals, and learned a lot about the ice age. While visiting the Manasija Monastery, founded by Despot Stefan, they expanded their knowledge of this historical complex and asked questions about the famous Resava School.

Savremena students fell in love with history even more, and wanted to learn more, especially about the ancient Roman settlement of Felix Romuliana which caught their attention with its sculptures and mosaics. The girls were more interested in the Turkish bath, or Hammam built by the Ottomans in the 15th century, because some scenes from the popular movie Zona Zamfirova were filmed there, asking countless questions about it.

Students were not lacking in adventurous spirit

The adventurous spirit of our students awoke at the very mouth of the Resava Cave. Their curious eyes feasted on the wonders of one of the most beautiful caves in Europe. They walked through its corridors accompanied by a local guide, and were awed by the diverse cave formations.

Visiting the stunning heritage railway and Drvengrad

The Šargan Eight is the most majestic heritage railway in Europe, and is well-known as a unique architectural masterpiece among narrow-gauge railways. Students of Years 7 and 8 had the opportunity to go on an unforgettable ride along the Šargan Eight and enjoy the beautiful vista of Mokra Gora Mountain. They also visited the traditional village Drvengrad, located atop the Mećavnik hill, and built according to the idea of the famous filmmaker, Emir Kusturica.
