Students of Primary Savremena School on a treasure hunt at Kalemegdan

An unusual extracurricular activity at the Belgrade Fortress allowed students of Primary School Savremena to search for the secret of a lost sarcophagus like Indiana Jones, thus taking advantage of the last sunny days of September in the best way possible.

They had the opportunity to learn many new things about Kalemegdan, the most popular city park, but also about the sights of the Belgrade Fortress, all that through play and team work, linking the content learned at school with the general knowledge they already possessed. Needless to say, “treasure” came as the reward for the successfully completed adventure. The best had to overcome challenges and find clues.

The Kalemegdan treasure hunt involved a variety of logical games, challenges and fun facts. Students in Years 5, 6 and 7 were divided into smaller groups, i.e. teams.

To reach their goal, they had to turn into small and brave explorers eager to learn, and become the main actors in the resolution of a great mystery. And the challenges were such that only a well-organised team could solve them.

Through such an organized adventure in nature, modern elementary school students had the opportunity to see Belgrade from a different perspective. Unusual details from the rich history of Kalemegdan expanded the students’ knowledge and opened numerous questions and topics for discussion. This justifies the concept according to which they study in a “classroom without walls”.

In this way, Primary school Savremena continues to be an inspiring environment that encourages the creativity and cultural development of its students outside the classroom.

And this is just the beginning!

“Classroom without Walls” for a more inspiring and truly different education

Participating in this organised outdoor adventure, students of Primary School Savremena had the opportunity to view Belgrade from a different perspective. Little known details from the rich history of the Serbian capital expanded the students’ knowledge and opened many questions and discussion topics. This adventure, among other things, best justifies the concept of a “Classroom without Walls”. This way, Primary School Savremena continues to be an inspiring environment which stimulates creativity and cultural development of its students, even outside the classroom.

And this is only the beginning, which means that our students will continue to have fun together and acquire new knowledge, both at school, and in different educational field trips as the year progresses. All these exciting and unforgettable events will help students to maintain their motivation at a high level in the new school year, to give their maximum and achieve even better results, as well as to acquire new knowledge both in and outside school.
