Savremena Students at the National Čitalići Event

Creativity, love of reading and a commendation for our Stefan in Aleksinac

Students of Savremena Primary School participated in the National Čitalići Event, held in Aleksinac, and once again showed how important reading is in their growth, learning and creative expression. This event gathers students who love books, words, imagination, research and creativity, and our pupils had the opportunity to present themselves through their work, ideas and the special energy carried by true young readers.

Taking part in Čitalići was much more than a school activity for our students. It was a meeting with books, authors, peers from other schools and different creative approaches to reading. In an atmosphere filled with joy, colour, smiles and stories, students had the chance to show what books mean to them and how reading can be fun, inspiring and encouraging.

The stand of our school attracted special attention, as it was prepared with great love, imagination and carefully designed details. Through it, students presented their work, interests and the reading spirit of Savremena Primary School, confirming that books and creativity have an important place in everyday school life.

Meeting Favourite Children’s Authors

One of the most beautiful moments of the event was the visit of well-known children’s authors to our school stand. Our students had the opportunity to meet writers whose books they enjoy reading, discussing in class and using as inspiration for thinking, imagining and creating.

The greatest attention was drawn by the renowned Dejan Aleksić, one of the favourite authors of our young Čitalići readers. Meeting him was especially valuable, as students had the chance to see in person an author whose works awaken their curiosity and encourage them to explore the world through literature. His presence brought additional joy to the day and made the event even more memorable.

Our stand was also visited by the wonderful Jasminka Petrović, an author whose books children gladly read and recognise as warm, honest and close to their world. Meetings with authors give students the opportunity to understand that behind every book there is a person, an idea, an emotion and a message. Such encounters often become motivation for new reading, questions and creative attempts.

These moments showed how important it is for children to experience literature beyond the classroom.

A Commendation for Stefan in the Creatives Category

A special reason for pride was the commendation awarded to our Stefan in the Creatives category. This recognition is a wonderful confirmation of his effort, imagination, originality and love of books. The Creatives category celebrates students who know how to turn reading into creation, transform ideas from books into their own expression and show how literature can inspire new forms of thinking and creativity.

Stefan’s commendation brought joy to all students and teachers who took part in preparing and presenting the school. It is both a recognition of individual work and a confirmation of shared effort, support and an atmosphere in which love of reading is nurtured. When a student receives recognition for creativity, it means that he has shown not only knowledge, but also a personal experience, a sense of story and the readiness to express himself in a special way.

At Savremena Primary School, we believe that reading is much more than understanding a text. It develops attention, comprehension, empathy, enriches vocabulary and encourages students to ask questions. That is why we are especially happy when our pupils show that they experience books as a space of freedom, play and creation.

A Day Filled with Books, Friendship and Inspiration

The National Čitalići Event in Aleksinac was a day filled with friendship, learning, smiles and wonderful encounters for Savremena Primary School students. Our pupils had the opportunity to exchange experiences with peers from other schools, explore different projects, see interesting stands and feel how rich, diverse and inspiring a reading community can be.

Events like this are especially important because they show students that books connect people, open conversations and encourage creativity. Through participation in the event, children develop not only reading habits, but also confidence, communication skills and a sense of belonging to a community that nurtures knowledge, imagination and curiosity.

We congratulate Stefan on his well-deserved commendation, as well as all the students who participated and represented Savremena Primary School in the best possible way. We are proud of their effort, creativity and love of books.

Well done to our young Čitalići readers!
