Savremena's student deservedly wins first place in “Golden Siren” city competition
Another proof that a great effort and diligent work lead to impressive results
After a two-year hiatus due to the coronavirus pandemic, the city “Golden Siren” competition took place once again this April in the Great Hall of the Children’s Cultural Centre in Belgrade. In the city competition, our school was represented by Emili Francišković with the song Autumn Sonata in the first category and genre called “Children’s light music”, and she win first place deservedly.
Judging by the atmosphere in the hall during the competition, you get the impression that the children have been looking forward to this kind of performing in public and that they missed it greatly in the previous period.
Children are born curious and talented, but whether their talent will be discovered and developed depends a lot on the encouragement of people close to them, on teachers’ dedication, and above all else, on their own hard work.
If we want to develop everyone’s talent, children have to be supported and given an opportunity to progress faster. That is why Savremena pays a lot of attention to discovering and developing talents.
We would like to congratulate music teacher Miloš Petrović and Emili Francišković, class I-2 student, on their achievement! We are extremely proud! This is a huge accomplishment, indeed. The first place they won is proof that you can win and achieve the goal you set only through a great effort, hard work, dedication, commitment, and support.
Our Emili was amazing and she dazzled the audience with her talent.
Children greatly benefit from listening to music and singing in various aspects of their lives
Many studies link music to an improvement of results in school. Music is thought to lead to efficiency in school and help children develop listening skills. It also helps children with learning problems. Even Plato said: “I would teach children music, physics, and philosophy; but most importantly music, for the patterns in music and all the arts are the keys to learning.”
Music has been proved to improve intelligence, creative and language skills, reading skills, and social interaction. And let’s not forget that music also boosts your mood!
So enjoy music and work diligently on your talents, and you are sure to achieve success!
