A Place Where Inclusion Truly Comes to Life
Savremena Primary School students visited the “Zvuci srca” café and, through meaningful encounters and shared experiences, learned about empathy, community, and social responsibility
There are places that leave a lasting impression not only because of the atmosphere that welcomes us, but because of the people we meet there and the stories they share. One such meaningful experience was enjoyed by Savremena Primary School students during their visit to the “Zvuci srca” café—a unique space where warmth, togetherness, and an important social mission come together.
This visit was much more than a pleasant outing beyond the classroom. It was an opportunity for our students to discover a place that actively promotes inclusion, equality, and the empowerment of people with developmental disabilities through work, creativity, and community. In an environment filled with smiles, sincere conversations, and positive energy, students had the opportunity to learn firsthand what it means to create a space where differences are not merely accepted, but genuinely valued.
During the visit, students spoke with employees, learned about their experiences, asked thoughtful questions, and listened with great interest as they discovered what daily work looks like in such an inspiring environment. Through encounters like these, children develop some of the most important life skills—understanding, empathy, and awareness of how meaningful it is to build a society where everyone has the opportunity to contribute in their own way.
At Savremena, we believe education is not limited to academic knowledge alone. It also includes nurturing humanity, social intelligence, and a sense of responsibility toward the community. That is why experiences like this represent such an important part of our students’ growth.

Learning Through Connection, Conversation, and Inspiring Stories
A particularly meaningful part of this visit was meeting the people whose work every day demonstrates how dedication, perseverance, and support can positively transform society. Students had the opportunity to speak with employees, hear their personal stories, and through open and honest conversations gain a deeper understanding of the importance of inclusion in everyday life.
With great curiosity, they explored the space, learned about the creative workshops, and discovered products created through talent, teamwork, and shared effort. They were especially excited by the opportunity to purchase souvenirs, offering their support to an initiative that promotes employment, empowerment, and social inclusion.
Experiences like this help children understand that the strength of a community is not built solely on individual achievement, but also on the willingness to support, respect, and uplift one another. When learning moves beyond the classroom and becomes an encounter with real human stories, it gains an entirely new dimension.
Lessons That Stay Long After Returning to School
The most valuable part of visits like these is often not only the knowledge students gain, but the emotions and impressions they carry with them afterward. Visiting the “Zvuci srca” café served as a powerful reminder that inclusion is not simply a concept we discuss—it is a value that comes to life through everyday actions, opportunities, and mutual support.
Our students left this experience with far more than pleasant memories. They gained a deeper understanding that every community becomes stronger when it creates space for diversity, nurtures empathy, and believes in the potential of every individual.
At Savremena Primary School, we remain committed to creating opportunities for authentic experiences like this, because we believe they help students grow not only into successful learners, but also into compassionate, responsible, and open-minded young people ready to help shape a better world.
