Savremena in Rovinj: Ideas Shaping the Future of Education
Savremena Primary School representatives explored current topics in education, artificial intelligence and our rapidly changing world
Weekend in Rovinj, held from 24 to 27 September, brought together experts, leaders and representatives from different industries to explore topics that are shaping the way people live, work, communicate and learn. Representatives of Savremena Primary School were among the participants, attending lectures, workshops and discussions dedicated to education, artificial intelligence, modern technologies and the changes brought by the new digital era.
Particular attention was given to topics directly connected with the future of today’s students. How is education changing under the influence of new technologies? How can artificial intelligence become a useful learning tool? Which skills will children need in a world developing faster than ever before? Questions such as these inspired the exchange of experiences, perspectives and new ideas.
For Savremena Primary School, keeping pace with these developments is an important part of continuous improvement. Modern education is not simply about using the latest technology. It is also about understanding the changes technology brings and preparing students to use it thoughtfully, responsibly and creatively.
By following developments beyond the classroom, the school can continue adapting its educational approach to the world in which today’s children are growing up.

From artificial intelligence to education for a changing world
During two days in Rovinj, Savremena Primary School representatives had the opportunity to follow a variety of sessions focusing on education, technological development, artificial intelligence and its growing influence on everyday life. Discussions explored the world in which today’s children are growing up, as well as the knowledge and skills they will need to navigate it successfully.
AI technologies and the ways in which they are already transforming learning, work and communication were among the important topics. Rather than viewing technology simply as a tool, increasing attention is being given to understanding how it works, how to use it responsibly and how to preserve what matters most in education: curiosity, critical thinking, creativity and the ability to reach independent conclusions.
These areas also play an important role in Savremena Primary School’s educational approach. Students are encouraged to explore, ask questions, connect knowledge from different subjects and use technology to support their own ideas rather than replace them.
Attending events that bring together different perspectives enables teachers and school representatives to follow developments beyond the classroom and turn new insights into ideas that can further enrich students’ everyday learning experience.
In this way, professional development becomes part of a wider goal: ensuring that education remains relevant to the challenges, opportunities and possibilities that await new generations.
A modern school learns alongside its students
The world for which today’s primary school students are preparing will not look the same as the one in which previous generations grew up. Artificial intelligence, emerging professions, new forms of communication and rapid technological development are already transforming the environment in which they will one day learn, study and work.
That is why schools need to develop alongside their students. Following new educational approaches, exchanging experiences and discovering ideas from experts across different fields help keep learning connected with the real world and the needs of new generations.
For Savremena Primary School students, this means an education that prepares them not only for the next test or grade, but also for situations in which they will need to think critically, evaluate information, collaborate, make decisions and develop their own solutions. Technology and artificial intelligence are part of that world, but knowledge, empathy, communication, creativity and responsibility remain equally important.
Weekend in Rovinj was therefore an opportunity to discover new ideas, consider different perspectives and bring back inspiration that can contribute to the continued development of the educational experience at Savremena. A school preparing children for the future must itself remain curious, open to change and committed to continuous learning.
