Savremena hosts large BrainOBrain competition
Young creative students shine in unusual arithmetic competition
Primary School Savremena proudly hosted the third national BrainOBrain competition. On a lovely day, many students aged 4–14 competed in mental arithmetic in the schoolyard.
And the prizes were fantastic – 150 trophies, 150 gold and 120 silver medals.
This creative competition is primarily focused on intellect and talent. As always, the contest guarantees great entertainment for the kids and their parents. The guests’ feedback was excellent – they talked about how fascinated they were not just by the creative tasks they enjoyed, but also by the modern premises of the prestigious educational institution such as Primary School Savremena.
GREAT EDUCATIONAL CONTENT FOR A TRULY DIFFERENT EXPERIENCE
Primary School Savremena delighted the contestants by adding a fun, educational and interactive programme to the event.
The children took part in unforgettable workshops through the school’s SMART programme. They flew around space in the 9D VR Starship journey. They used VR headsets to travel around our planet, and moved robots on the STEM table. Finally, they were delighted by the opportunity to create a video game using OSMO.
It was a great pleasure for everyone at Primary School Savremena to welcome our new clever friends at the school. After talking to the parents and the members of the BrainOBrain organisation, it’s evident that we share the same values and vision of education: to provide children with the best environment in which they can develop their potential and build a foundation for a happy and successful future!
A GLOBALLY SUCCESSFUL EDUCATIONAL MODEL IN SAVREMENA’S SCHOOLYARD
BrainOBrain is a globally recognised programme that encourages the development of children’s personal and intellectual skills. The essence of the programme is mental arithmetic. Creative learning and a different perception of maths, which rely on using real-life examples, is the method applied at Primary School Savremena.
The competition that’s been organised for decades around the world and for the third time in Serbia took place on Victory Day, on 9 May. Symbolically, the entire day went by in the spirit of victory. Split into age groups (4–14), the clever contestants won trophies, and gold and silver medals for their performance. Most importantly, they were encouraged to continue with their hard work.
BrainOBrain is highly popular around the world: created in 2003, it takes place in 39 countries and over 950 educational centres.
BrainOBrain centres in Serbia are located in Zaječar, Vranje, Sokobanja, Sremska Mitrovica, Obrenovac, Požarevac, Paraćin, Novi Sad, Niš, Loznica, Kikinda, Inđija, Bor and Belgrade. On 9 May, the children who attend these centres around our country convened in Savremena’s schoolyard and made this day – truly victorious.
