Savremena High School Students Visit Primary School Students
Together on the prevention of cyberbullying
Students of Savremena Primary School welcomed students of Savremena Gimnazija, who visited our school at the request of the high school principal in order to present their school project “Cyberbullying – Prevention and Protection”. The visit was dedicated to a topic that plays an extremely important role in the development of children and young people, especially at a time when digital communication has become a significant part of their everyday lives.
The high school students introduced themselves to fifth, sixth and seventh graders and spoke in a clear and relatable way about the challenges children may face on the internet, social media and in online communication. Through carefully prepared presentations, our primary school pupils had the opportunity to hear useful advice, examples from the digital environment and recommendations on how to react if they encounter inappropriate behaviour in the virtual world.
We are especially pleased that the pupils followed the presentations with great interest, listened attentively to their older peers and actively took part in the discussion. They asked questions, shared their thoughts and showed that they understand how important it is to nurture a culture of respect, responsibility and safety in the digital world.

When older students teach younger ones, knowledge becomes closer and stronger
The project “Cyberbullying – Prevention and Protection” was prepared by students of Savremena Gimnazija divided into four groups, with each group presenting a specific segment of this important topic. During the presentations, they explained what cyberbullying means, the forms it can take, how to recognise it, whom to turn to for help and why it is important to react in time. In this way, fifth, sixth and seventh graders received clear and practical guidance that can help them behave more safely and responsibly in the digital space.
Peer learning proved to be especially valuable, as messages coming from older students are often closer, more understandable and more encouraging for younger pupils. The high school students demonstrated responsibility, maturity and a willingness to share important knowledge with primary school pupils, while our students listened carefully, reflected on the situations presented and asked questions that further enriched the discussion.
During the meeting, an interesting and useful conversation developed about online behaviour, the protection of personal data, mutual respect and the ways students can support one another. They also discussed the idea that the digital space, just like the school environment, should be a place where kindness, empathy and responsibility are nurtured. Activities like this help students develop digital literacy, as well as an awareness that each of us contributes to creating a safer online environment.
A safe digital world begins with responsible behaviour
The visit of Savremena Gimnazija students was a valuable experience for everyone involved. Our primary school pupils had the opportunity to hear important messages about the prevention of cyberbullying, protecting themselves and others, and the importance of reacting in time when inappropriate behaviour is noticed online, all from the perspective of their older peers. At the same time, the high school students showed how school projects can gain broader meaning when knowledge, effort and responsibility are shared with younger students.
At Savremena Primary School, we believe that education means not only acquiring knowledge, but also developing life skills, empathy and responsibility. That is why activities like this have a special place in school life, as they help students better understand the world they are growing up in and act within it thoughtfully, safely and respectfully towards others.
We thank the students of Savremena Gimnazija for their visit, effort and the important messages they shared with our pupils. We look forward to new meetings, cooperation and joint projects that connect students and encourage them to build a better and safer environment together.
