Fantastic news about a great event! The BeoBalet classical and modern ballet studio, which holds ballet workshops at Primary School Savremena, gave a magical ballet performance with the youngest and best ballerinas in town, at the National Theatre in Belgrade. The audience enjoyed the sequences of Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky’s “Sleeping Beauty”, where ballerinas aged 3 through 12 presented their delightfully mastered dance steps and choreographies.

BRILLIANT PERFORMANCE OF “SAVREMENA” TROUPE AT MAIN STAGE

The exquisitely interesting sequence of the famous ballet, called “We Discover the Secret of Happiness”, performed by the “Savremena” ballet troupe – the little ballerinas from the region’s most modern school – received unanimous ovation from the delighted audience. They looked wonderful on stage. They were not intimidated by the prospect of performing at the Main Stage of the National Theatre in Belgrade. Quite the opposite – they were confidently brilliant!

In addition to Savremena’s lovely troupe of tiny ballerinas, the evening was filled with performances by other, interestingly named groups attending the BeoBalet classical and modern dance studio, including “The Enchantresses”, “The Glitter”, “The Princesses”, “The Unicorns”, “The Little Stars”, “The Snowflakes”, “The Hearts”, “The Little Strawberries” and others, sorted by age. The intriguingly named performances included “The Charms”, “Love Conquers All”, “The Great Waltz”, “The Fate of the Little Briar Rose” and “The Royal Ball”.

The audience followed each movement with rapt attention, while little ballerinas showed their talent, courage and true potential. Bravo for Savremena’s ballerinas and bravo for other brave princesses, members of BeoBalet.

EXQUISITE QUALITY OF BEOBALET’S WORKSHOP AT OUR SCHOOL

The BeoBalet school’s ballet workshop teaches girls aged 6 through 12. Top quality one-hour lessons are held by expert educators twice a week. The advantages of ballet practice are great – it is a healthy, motivating activity, which complements school activities through a valuable blend of sport and art.

The lessons improve the children’s motor skills and encourage a gradual development of discipline required by work in a group. With favourite fairy tales and music adequate for their age, little ballerinas make their first ballet steps. They consistently adopt group work skills and start getting more complex tasks, leading to the mastering of demanding ballet moves and choreographies. As the music becomes increasingly complex, they start forming their first ballet “sentences” and gain more independence in their artistic expression.

Pyotr Ilyuich Tchaikovsky’s “Sleeping Beauty” is one of the world’s most famous and widely performed ballets. Since its premiere performance in 1890 at the Mariinsky Theatre, it has been a milestone in every ballerina’s life and work. This ballet is a significant step towards success. By performing at the Main Stage of the National Theatre in Belgrade, Savremena’s princesses showed their greatness and gift and opened the door leading to further achievements.
