Preschoolers and Year 3 Pupils Create Family Memories Together
A creative workshop bringing younger and older pupils together
As part of the “Big Brother, Big Sister” project, Savremena Primary School’s preschool group welcomed four Year 3 pupils, Helena, Manja, Milica and Matea, for a special creative activity.
During their visit, the older pupils joined the preschoolers in creating a family album, encouraging creativity, cooperation and conversations about family and shared memories.
The youngest children participated enthusiastically in the activity and were particularly delighted to spend time with their older schoolmates.
Such experiences are an important part of school life, helping children develop communication skills, build friendships and strengthen connections across different age groups.

Bringing Younger and Older Pupils Together Through Creativity
Creating a family album was the central activity of the workshop. Through this shared experience, preschoolers had the opportunity to express their creativity, exchange ideas and collaborate with the Year 3 pupils.
Helena, Manja, Milica and Matea joined the younger children in making their albums, helping to create a welcoming and encouraging atmosphere.
The opportunity to interact with older pupils made the activity particularly enjoyable for the preschoolers, who approached the workshop with excitement and enthusiasm.
Activities like these encourage communication, teamwork and mutual understanding, allowing children of different ages to learn from one another.
Building Friendships from an Early Age
The “Big Brother, Big Sister” project is a wonderful example of how Savremena Primary School connects younger and older children through meaningful educational experiences.
By participating in shared activities, preschoolers gradually become more familiar with the school environment while developing confidence and a sense of belonging.
At Savremena Primary School, activities that encourage empathy, friendship and collaboration are an important part of children’s development. These experiences contribute to a supportive learning environment where every child feels included and encouraged to participate.
The preschoolers’ excitement and happiness throughout the workshop demonstrated how simple creative activities can become memorable experiences and help lay the foundations for lasting friendships.
