Professions that inspire: meeting a pilot

Parents at Work

As part of the “Parents at Work” project, students of class 3-1 had the opportunity to host a very special guest—a parent who works as a pilot. Through an engaging and inspiring session, students were introduced to one of the most exciting professions of today. This visit was much more than a regular lesson, as it allowed students to explore the world of aviation through firsthand experience.

Through an age-appropriate and interactive discussion, students learned about the journey to becoming a pilot—from education and training to first flights and daily responsibilities. They were especially interested in how airplanes are operated, what skills pilots need, and how important responsibility, focus, and decision-making are in this profession.

Listening to real-life experiences helped students understand that being a pilot is not only exciting, but also a profession that requires knowledge, dedication, and continuous learning.

A conversation that sparks curiosity

One of the most engaging parts of the lesson was the interactive discussion, where students had the opportunity to ask questions and actively participate. Their curiosity was evident through questions such as how planes take off and land, how long pilot training takes, whether flying is difficult, and how often pilots travel.

This interaction created a positive and encouraging atmosphere, allowing students to express their interests freely. Through conversation, they developed communication skills and learned how to ask meaningful questions and seek new knowledge.

Hearing real experiences from a professional gave students valuable insight into a demanding and responsible career, further motivating them to learn and explore.

Dreams about future careers start in the classroom

This lesson also encouraged students to think about their own future aspirations. Inspired by the guest, they shared ideas about what they would like to become, discovering a wide range of interests and ambitions.

Through experiences like this, students not only gain knowledge but also develop awareness of the importance of education, effort, and perseverance in achieving their goals. They realized that every profession, no matter how exciting, requires dedication, responsibility, and continuous improvement.

The “Parents at Work” project aims to connect learning with real-life experiences and introduce students to different professions. In this way, school becomes a place where knowledge is connected to life, and students are encouraged to believe in their dreams and develop their potential. Moments like these leave a lasting impression and inspire children to think boldly about their future.
