Outdoor lessons with sports and forgotten games
Unforgettable day at Košutnjak – cross country running, hide and seek, elastics, marbles and much more
A sunny day, a running trail, and beautiful Košutnjak! Our senior students will long remember the Sports Day during which they learnt new things and had so much fun.
On Thursday, 17 June, the students spent a school day at Košutnjak, where they enjoyed many interesting activities. They had a wonderful time outdoors and got to revive some forgotten games.
A CHALLENGING CROSS COUNTRY RACE
The children arrived in Košutnjak early in the morning in their sportswear and immediately started preparing for the main activity, the cross country race. They took this challenge seriously and ran with a lot of enthusiasm and drive.
First they warmed up with a lap of light running and exercises.
Then they had the race on the 500-metre trail. In the boys’ race, first place went to V-1 student Vuk Pantić Crnčević, while Mara Đukić from V-2 won the girls’ race.
Finally, the winners got trophies!
OLD-SCHOOL GAMES AFTER THE RACE
In addition to the cross country race, Savremena’s students played some of their favourite games, such as hide and seek, password, elastics, marbles, etc. While many students were familiar with these games, those who encountered them for the first time found them particularly interesting.
The consensus is that these games are eternal and loved by all generations.
By organising these outdoor activities, Savremena has once again shown that it’s an eco-school dedicated to raising awareness about nature and the environment. In addition, this was another opportunity to exercise the “classroom without walls”, an educational concept that fosters learning outside the traditional classroom.
We spent yet another beautiful day filled with challenging sports games and pastimes from our childhood!
Upon returning to the school, the students had snacks and shared their impressions from this event at which they all showcased their talent.
