Our students’ enormous success at municipal competition in Serbian language and language culture

We excel in competitions

On Saturday, 26 February, Primary School Savremena students took part in the municipal competition in the Serbian language and language culture. Year 5 students Irina Ubiparip and Anika Ranković were extremely successful, winning 1st and 2nd prize respectively.

Organised by the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development and the Association for the Serbian Language and Literature, the Serbian competition has a long tradition in our country. It still maintains a high level of quality, despite the prolonged pandemic and exacerbated working conditions in the education system. Due to all this, our students’ and teachers’ success makes the whole school feel very important and honoured!

They prepared for the competition with their teacher Marija Šaponjić. Through hard work and a great love for the subject, the students managed to beat over 70 contestants from other primary schools in New Belgrade! We are more than proud of them!

The city competition will take place on the 2nd of April. We wish them all the luck and hope they’ll demonstrate their knowledge there as well!

DEVELOPING COMPETITIVENESS IN CHILDREN

Just like adults, children have different personalities and react to a competitive atmosphere in various ways. Some experience the jitters and worry whether they’ll be able to show their knowledge, while others are eager to compete and prove themselves.

Savremena students love competitions, during which they enjoy the energy of knowledge and socialising with their peers from other schools. They are brave and they encourage each other to be successful. They are also extremely grateful to the teachers at Savremena, who provide them with support and teach them how to become the best versions of themselves, set realistic goals, and attain them.
