Sports Spirit and Medals at the Sixth New Belgrade Happy Run
Savremena Primary School students won five medals and showed excellent team spirit
Students of Savremena Primary School spent a wonderful, dynamic and inspiring sports day participating in the sixth New Belgrade Happy Run, held in the park near Ušće. This event gathered students from various schools in the municipality of New Belgrade, giving them the opportunity to socialise, compete, support one another and develop important values through sport, such as perseverance, discipline, fair play and team spirit.
Our students were accompanied by PE teachers Željko Zarić and Miloš Lazić, who supported, motivated and encouraged them throughout the event to give their best. Their presence and guidance were an important part of this sports experience, as the students felt safe, prepared and motivated to show their abilities on the track.
Students from grades one to four took part in a 400-metre cross-country race, while students from grades five to eight ran an 800-metre course. Regardless of age or final placement, all our students showed great determination, energy and the desire to complete the race successfully. That is why this day was much more than a sports competition – it was a day of joy, movement, togetherness and pride.

Five Medals for Savremena Students
Our students achieved excellent results and returned from the park near Ušće with a total of five medals – three silver and two bronze. This success is a wonderful confirmation of their effort, readiness and sportsmanship, as well as encouragement to continue nurturing a love of physical activity and healthy habits.
The bronze medal was won by Vana Vlaović, class 8/1, who showed outstanding perseverance and confidence during the race.
The silver medal was won by Hana Janković, class 6/3, who achieved an excellent result and confirmed her readiness for sports challenges.
The bronze medal was won by Vuk Đurđević, class 5/3, whose determination and effort deservedly brought him to the podium.
The silver medal was won by Luka Vasiljević, class 5/2, who showed great energy, focus and a strong desire to succeed.
The silver medal was won by Aleksandar Milenković, class 3/3, who achieved a result worthy of great pride in the younger students’ category.
Congratulations to all medal winners on their excellent results, as well as to all students who participated and gave their best.
Competition, Friendship and Fair Play
The New Belgrade Happy Run was an opportunity for our students to show their athletic abilities, but also to learn how important fair play, support and respect for other competitors are. In an atmosphere filled with cheering, smiles and positive energy, the students had the chance to compete with peers from other schools and gain valuable experiences they will remember.
Events like this are very important for children’s development because they remind them that sport is not only about results and medals. Sport teaches students how to be persistent, how to accept challenges, how to overcome nervousness and how to support others. Every race, regardless of placement, brings important lessons about perseverance, confidence and the joy of participation.
We are especially pleased that our students showed excellent behaviour, mutual encouragement and true team spirit throughout the day. They cheered for one another, celebrated every success and showed that they represent Savremena Primary School not only through results, but also through their attitude towards sport, friends and competition.
Proud of All Participants
At Savremena Primary School, we are proud of all students who took part in the sixth New Belgrade Happy Run. Their energy, effort, smiles and readiness to give their best once again showed how important sports activities are for developing healthy habits, confidence and togetherness.
We would like to thank PE teachers Željko Zarić and Miloš Lazić, who accompanied the students, encouraged them and helped them experience this sports day in the best possible way. Their support was valuable, and thanks to it, the students had the opportunity to compete in a positive, safe and encouraging atmosphere.
Congratulations to all our competitors, and special congratulations to the medal winners. We believe that this success will motivate them to continue doing sports, developing their abilities and bravely accepting new challenges.
Well done to Savremena students!
