Nature will always be a magical place to take a rest, but let us not forget that it also provides an ideal environment for education, learning and sports activities. Near the end of an exciting school year, Savremena’s seventh-graders visited Serbia’s first nautical village, while the sixth-graders took a trip to Avala.

Savremena’s students’ close relationship with nature is very important, and Savremena’s reputation as a “green” school is well deserved. 

Savremena’s students and employees alike are eco-friendly oriented, and enjoy specially designed lessons created towards the preservation and improvement of the environment of the entire society. 

Time spent outdoors during such trips ensures that the students learn that they need to cherish their relationship with nature. 

Seventh-graders visit Serbia’s first nautical village 

The suburban settlement of Boljevci at the left bank of the river Sava, 35 kilometres upstream from Belgrade, is home to the first nautical village in Serbia – Biser (Pearl), ideal for picnicking, rest and relaxation. 

Savremena’s students, known for their love of sports, played volleyball and soccer, enjoyed the beautiful sunny day, and took in the wonderful environment during a splendid walk.

Unforgettable time filled with enjoyment on sports and recreation day at Avala

Accompanied by educational stories, students hiked, played sports, explored the animal and plant life of Avala, enjoying the beautiful outdoors with their friends and teachers in fresh air. Activities in nature are carefully curated with a long-term objective in mind: through play, children learn better and prepare for educational activities that take place at school. They are also beneficial for creativity and imagination, and problem-solving savvy – which, in turn, leads to improved self-confidence, prominent in interaction.
