At the prestigious HIPPO 2021 competition, an event where Savremena’s students traditionally achieve notable results, V-1 student Mateja Baketarić reached the semi-finals – which is quite commendable considering the fierce competition. However, this was not all from this talented student – he finished first in French at the Willkommen 2021.

Under phenomenal mentorship provided by teachers Melanija Savić and Danica Colnarić, our talented primary school students continue to shine in language competitions.

OUR STUDENTS AS PRIMARY SCHOOL SAVREMENA’S BEST AMBASSADORS

Mateja’s success at this year’s events goes to show how quality pedagogical approach can allow children to show their full colours. Mateja Baketarić went the greatest distance among the children who applied for the competition; he qualified for European Qualifiers at the HIPPO 2021 language olympiad.

The organizers of the olympiad provide the best in all categories with an opportunity to spend several days in wonderful Rimini, Italia, and qualify for the grand finals.

Children’s productivity cannot peak unless they have fun. The wonderful news is that the kids will certainly have an exquisite opportunity to enjoy themselves, along with their teachers.

They will get tickets for Mirabilandia, Italy’s greatest amusement park, and create nice memories that will last them a lifetime.

We believe that Mateja will make us proud, as there are no better ambassadors than our little talented, diligent ones.

It is our great pleasure to remind you that last year’s HIPPO olympiad had over 56,000 participants from 46 countries.

Our students Lena Lešnjak and Lilita Milčić scored the maximum number of points in the preliminaries, which we consider a great success.

PRESTIGIOUS COMPETITIONS FOR LITTLE POLYGLOTS

Competitions of this sort present an opportunity for a gathering of ambitious students and teachers who forge and nurture strong friendships at the international level.

The very names Willkommen and HIPPO – English Without Borders convey the main message: that there are no borders when there are understanding, respect, healthy competition, wholesome ambition and a love of languages. 

Whichever country they come from, all kids are welcome to compete and display their knowledge.

The children are our future, and achievements and international cooperation involving children and teachers erase prejudice and build a healthy environment.

It is not easy to express how glad we are for our Mateja’s achievement. We are sure that this great child will not stop here and that he will present Savremena at the European Qualifiers competition in the best possible way, in full accordance with our tradition.
