National Competition “Kangaroo Without Borders” – Bronze Medal Awarded

Year after year, students of Savremena Primary School remind us that great achievements grow from curiosity, dedication and the desire to always take one step further. This time, our reason for special pride is Dunja, who won a bronze medal, that is, third prize, at the National Competition – the Serbian Mathematical Olympiad “Kangaroo Without Borders”.

The competition was held on 7 June 2026 in Kragujevac and brought together students from across Serbia who demonstrated excellent mathematical knowledge, logical thinking and readiness to face demanding tasks. In very strong competition, where almost half of the participants came from specialised seventh-grade classes of mathematical grammar schools, Dunja achieved an excellent result and placed 9th on the ranking list.

This achievement is even more valuable because “Kangaroo Without Borders” was, for the first time, categorised in the Ministry of Education’s calendar as a national mathematics competition. That is why Dunja’s medal is an important success not only for her, but also for Savremena Primary School, whose name she proudly carried at the award ceremony and which was written on her diploma.

An outstanding result in strong competition

The path to a medal at a national competition is never simple. It requires practice, patience, concentration and the ability to approach problems from different angles. Dunja showed exactly that in Kragujevac – confidence, knowledge and a competitive spirit that placed her among the best young mathematicians in the country.

What makes her achievement especially impressive is the fact that she missed the silver medal by only 0.25 out of 90 points. This small difference clearly shows how demanding the competition was, but also how close Dunja came to an even higher placement. Still, winning a bronze medal at such an important competition is an exceptional result that deserves great respect and sincere congratulations.

For our school, this achievement has a special place because it confirms that students of Savremena Primary School, with the support of their families, teachers and school environment, can successfully compete with peers from the strongest mathematical backgrounds. Dunja’s result shows that knowledge is built step by step – through curiosity, perseverance, effort and belief in one’s own abilities.

At the award ceremony, Dunja proudly represented her school, and the name of Savremena Primary School on her diploma remains another wonderful mark in the series of our students’ achievements.

Proud of Dunja

Savremena Primary School proudly congratulates Dunja on winning the bronze medal and achieving an excellent placement at the National “Kangaroo Without Borders” Competition. Achievements like this are remembered not only as results on a ranking list, but also as proof of dedication, courage and love of learning.

We are especially happy that Dunja represented her school with pride and showed that effort, knowledge and perseverance are always recognised. Her medal is a recognition of the work she invested, as well as encouragement for the new challenges waiting for her on her mathematical journey.

We believe this is only one of many successes Dunja will achieve. We wish her to continue nurturing her curiosity, solving new problems with confidence and finding in every future competition an opportunity to grow, learn and enjoy the joy of achievement.

Well done, Dunja! The entire Savremena Primary School is proud of you.
