Multidisciplinary lessons at Savremena make learning more fun
Demonstration lessons with third- and fourth-grade students
Demonstration lessons at our school are always quite an event for all involved. The students enjoy the multidisciplinary approach, their teachers get to teach quite outside the box, while other teachers and associates soak in all the benefits of this type of innovation.
For third- and fourth-grade students, these are the last demo lessons of the year. This is why the teachers went an extra mile to ensure everything would be truly different and quite fun.
Teacher Branka Đurović delivered a demonstration mathematics lesson in which students encountered and solved math problems in the tale of three little pigs.
These were mainly tasks where they had to solve equations with a single unknown and proportion in order to calculate the prices of different things in order to help the piglets in distress.
In the realisation of this fantastic method, teacher Branka Đurović was assisted by her colleagues Maja Matić and Nevena Božić, who had creative costumes on and brought some great acting to the lesson. The entire lesson was a patchwork of teachers’ acting performances and students’ problem solving. Great fun was had by all, and students overcame considerable mathematical challenges.
Blend of traditional and innovative methodological approaches makes teaching process at Savremena varied, rich and inspiring
The demonstration lesson with teacher Branka Milićević was quite refreshing, as nobody among the teachers who were there was sure how far the scope of the lesson would reach until the very end. Nature and society were the focal point, but considering language and mathematics skills required from students, the lesson necessitated the application of knowledge across various subjects.
The students were divided into groups; thanks to the succession of different thematic tasks, they were exposed to a veritable “explosion” of knowledge.
We would like to thank our teachers, who, in addition to their dedication, have years of experience to draw from, for these incredible lessons, enjoyed by children and all attending teachers alike.
